Erik X

Erik X is a composer from Lost Angeles, California who was found at an early age living in a storm drain on the outskirts of a deserted petroleum factory living on nothing but dried squirrel and earth worms. During one of his nightly pilgrimages to the used tire yard to collect fuel for his homemade furnace, he came upon a discarded toy piano lying precariously on the surface of one of the many noxious tar pits peppering the area. As he tried to rescue the piano, he slipped and sunk to the bottom of the tar, where he nearly drowned before a freak earthquake fractured the pit causing it to empty around him. He ingested his own body weight in toxic sludge, but from that day forth, he acquired a bizarre and frightening gift for composing music from the great beyond. From an oxygen starved mind burst suffocating music. Every hammer of machinery seemed to wail a melody, every rumble of the earth tore open a harmony, every cry of carrion birds inspired a song, every chemical explosion burst into rhythm, even the rumblings of thunder storms in the distance became an onslaught of furious chords. Nowadays, Erik silences the voices in his head by stitching subliminal messages into the musical misadventures of Creature Feature.
