Creature Feature is a mysterious traveling midnight horror show belting out creepy Halloween music to awaken the creature in all of us created by horror composer and filmmaker Curtis Rx.

Welcome To The Greatest Show Unearthed!

Originally starting out as a band, Creature Feature throughout the years has become the official pseudonym for all the various musical compositions of Los Angeles based talent Curtis Rx as he forayed into film, television, video games, art installations, and web series. Regardless of the medium, Curtis Rx has long interwoven horror and Halloween themes throughout his music, writing, and film.

Formed with the help of Keyboardist Erik X in 2005 (who played in the band until 2014), Creature Feature has been sending chills up spines and through airwaves for over two decades. Along with his side project of Rufus Rex and composing career, Curtis' prolific discographies draw inspiration from gothic literature, horror films, and the hallowed season itself. Every day is truly Halloween with Creature Feature!

Pulling influences from classic horror films, soundtracks, Halloween memories, carnival calliope music, cartoons, classic video games, and the terrifying writings of Edgar Allen Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, and Edward Gorey, Creature Feature creates a wildly unique sound that seems like it’s been ripped from the moldering celluloid of a forgotten horror film or a long lost episode of The Twilight Zone. The kind of music that paints a picture in your mind of dancing skeletons, evil carnivals, flesh eating ghouls, grim hauntings, body snatchings, premature burials, and kidnappings most foul. The mad monster party doesn’t stop there, add in an unhealthy dose of frantic rock guitar, haunted mansion organ, bone-chilling synth, electronic heart-pounding bass, creature voices from the beyond, and manic vocals reminiscent of early Oingo Boingo era Danny Elfman. Mix them all together in a poisonous cocktail and you have Creature Feature, a mysterious traveling midnight horror show belting out creepy music to awaken the creature in all of us.

Founder of the secret society and mysterious social club ‘THE OCTOBER COUNTRY CLUB’, Curtis Rx is a horror composer and filmmaker from Lost Angeles, California who spent most of his early childhood locked away in a tiny steel box in a dark basement with nothing more than his twisted thoughts and a single black crayon to keep him company. On one of the rare occasions he was allowed out of his cage, he was taken to Woolworth’s department store where, in the hustle and bustle of an after Christmas sale, he slipped from his mother’s embrace and tumbled head first onto the tile floor below. Luckily the burlap sack he was wearing over his head cushioned the brunt of the fall, slowed the bleeding, and collected the expelled brain matter, but from that fateful day forth, he possessed a strange and unearthly talent for composing music not of this world. From a fractured mind emerged fractured music. Every dark corner he passed now seemed to whisper a melody, every veil of fog murmured a harmony, every scuttering insects chattered a song, every flicker of flame set forth a rhythm, even the howl of nightly coyotes in the distance as they torn into their helpless prey became a chorus of cacophonous chords. Nowadays, between his bouts of madness, Curtis splits his multiple personalities between his ghastly filmmaking, dreadful fiction writing and his two devious musical, the mysterious traveling horror carnival known as ‘CREATURE FEATURE’, and the alternative lycanthropic occultist medical sideshow known as ‘RUFUS REX’. Both projects have had all their albums released under Rx's own ‘VILLAINS AND VAUDEVILLIANS’ record label.
